About me
David Levine, Director of Teaching Empathy Institute, is an award-winning educator, curriculum designer, author, recording artist, and documentary film maker. He has over 30 years of experience working in a multitude of educational settings across the globe as a classroom teacher, instructional coach, workshop facilitator and systems-change specialist. At his core, David is an empathy educator with a passion for creating the conditions of belonging and emotionally safe relationships in our schools and communities, where social and emotional learning and emotional intelligence are foundational life skills building practices. As a writer, David’s works include A Year of Belonging and Field Guide to a School of Belonging, both of which were recipients of the Nautilus Book Award, American Book Fest Best Book Award and Indie Book Award in successive years (2019-2022).
