About me
Lana Shea currently serves as the Director of Teaching and Learning at St. Stephen’s & St. Agnes School in Alexandria, VA. She has experience working in independent and public schools. Throughout her career she has facilitated professional learning communities and faculty trainings; taught grades two, three, five, and ESL K-9; served as an ESL program specialist; and worked in administration in a variety of roles. She also spent time living and teaching in Cairo, Egypt. Lana earned her bachelor’s degree in political science, with a minor in English, from the University of Oregon. In addition, she earned her Master in Teaching elementary education degree from Seattle University, a Master of Arts in liberal arts from St. John’s College, and a Master of Science in educational leadership from The Johns Hopkins University. Passionate about creating dynamic classroom communities of thinking and learning, she has twice attended the Project Zero Classroom summer institute and will serve as a PZC Fellow this summer. Last year, she served as a WISSIT Fellow and is excited to return WISSIT this summer as a learning group co-leader.
